Moon

I thought we would have clouds, but when I checked, there was just enough clear sky to get this shot. I spent most of my time trying to lock onto it with my camera. It was at a very high angle and appeared small. The viewfinder had a hard time since it was not very bright. I was using a long focal length combination which also made it difficult. My tripod head gave me grief because I had trouble locking in place with the incline I was imposing upon it. No crop. PnP in note. A lunar eclipse photo I made ten years ago.

My friends who are into astronomy were going crazy for this event. I had a good view from my bedroom so I grabbed it while I could.

The Sunday Challenge: Maximalism. Well, this week's supermoon was so maximal that it would not fit on my puny sensor.

This was my attempt at the supermoon August 11, 2014. It lit up the sky and played with these brisk moving clouds.

I had a nice clear sky for the lunar eclipse. Taken at 0203, MST.
