Destroyers @Volos (1954)

Ships of the Royal Hellenic Navy in Volos port, Greece, in or after 1952:
Destroyer RHS DOXA D20 (1951-1971)
Three Cannon class Destroyers Escort:
RHS LEON D54 (ex USS Eldridge DE-173)
One of IERAX D31, PANTHR D67
RHS AETOS D01 (ex USS Slater DE-766)
A familiar building in the photo is the brach office of the Bank of Greece, founded in 1933 and completed in 1935, currently a listed structure.
Estimated date is summer of 1954. Most of the old-style buildings in the background were destroyed or damaged in the earthquake of April 1955 and afterwards they were rebuilt in different style. Anonymous photographer, photograph in my collection. Still under copyright protection until December 31, 2024, based on the 1954 dating.
