It gives me an ache of nostalgia (or is it neuralgia?) it sometimes feels as though the last time it really snowed here was the winter of 62/63. I was seven.

John got here first and of course said just what I was going to say (except I don't see why a Japanese ink drawing could not also convey a true appreciation of snow.)
