MN1032 FLIN FLON - YACHTING ON SCHIST LAKE

MN1032 FLIN FLON - YACHTING ON SCHIST LAKE
POSTCARD

Date: Not posted, but typewritten note on the reverse is dated October 1, 1917

Publisher / Photographer: Unidentified

Notation: Caption on front reads; "Yachting on Schist Lake." This is an image of Elmer Hackman.

Typewritten note on the reverse explains; "Oct. 1, 1917. Donald Graham's yacht on Schist Lake. Before D. G. left the mine here, we took a sail out on the lake. He had this boat built up here and its no good to him now, being in The Pas. Elmer." Added in handwriting: "Ice is now 2 ft. thick on this lake."

** This image is from a collection of 31 postcards that I acquired from an original set of 37. They were primarily private postcards (not commercially-produced) focused on the operations and personnel involved with the development & operation of the Mandy Mine on Schist Lake in Northern Manitoba from the early fall of 1917 through to the spring of 1918.
