GL001 TEACHER AT UNIDENTIFIED MANITOBA SCHOOL - MISS LAURIE

PHOTOGRAPH
6 X 4 cm
Date: Early 1920s
Publisher / Photographer: Unidentified
Notation: I really love the composition of this little photo. The woman in the photo is only identified as "Miss Laurie". (The writing is faded and the last part of her name could be something slightly different.)
Miss Laurie's picture is a great one to begin this album. It is, in fact, one of many pictures in a photograph album that I acquired several years ago. Miss Laurie seems to be the central person in the album as it includes images of her time in Winnipeg at Normal School.
The album seems to begin in 1920, covers only a few years, and includes many interesting images of her home town of Glenboro.
This photo accompanies several others focused on what I assume was her first posting as a teacher. (Given the ethnic names of her students, possibly somewhere in the Interlake.)
