Die küste ist dort sehr felsig und es gab da einen "Kamin" durch den
bei jeder großen Welle eine Gischtfontäne nach oben schoss (siehe im Bild)

die Insel liegt in der Passatwindzone. Der beständige Nord-Ost
bringt viel Feuchtigkeit mit, die an den steilen Bergen kondensieren
und für eine permanente Wolkendecke sorgen (siehe Folgeaufnahmen).
