WZFO stands for Warszawskie Zakłady Fotooptyczne (Warsaw Photo-optical Works).
WZFO was a maker of cameras and other photographic equipment. It was founded in 1951. In 1953 they started manufacturing TLRs called Start.

Just at the same time my father graduated from an university and was ordered to work at WZFO. That's when and where he became a photo hobbyist :)

His Start (which became mine twelve years later) does not even has a serial number as my father made it himself from defective parts being thrown away :) But his friends from a photo optics laboratory made a wonder lens from total rubbish :)
