Another angle on an impressive fieldstone house with a bay window. The house has a sweeping view over part of the Qu'Appelle Valley, near Regina, Saskatchewan.

A graveyard and fieldstone church tucked into the corner of a farmer's field in an area known as Vernon. The church is used occasionally during the summer, and is slowly decaying. A plastic flower adorns one of the graves. Taken in the afternoon on a day in late November.

A wooden shed that has passed its prime needs help from a neighbouring granaries to stay somewhat erect. This image was taken near Wascana Creek, northwest of Regina, Saskatchewan.
church at Big Beaver
There is nothing on the sign to indicate the name of this church, in the small community of Big Beaver, although it is obviously well maintained. The sawhorse by the entrance suggests some maintenance work is going on.

A view of a country church at Foxleigh, north of Regina. There used to be a small community and a sports grounds at Foxleigh, but only the church and cemetery remain.
country church 1990s

St. Patrick's Catholic Church, located somewhere in southern Saskatchewan. This image is scanned from a print, and was taken likely in the 1990s. I can't recall where this church was located.

An abandoned house near Regina, with a dormer window covered with a piece of sheet metal. This image was taken near sunset as a storm brewed in the background.

The interior of Holy Trinity Church at Stanley Mission, the oldest building in Saskatchewan. It is a National Historic Site and a Provincial Heritage Property.
Sts. Peter&Paul, Kayville

Kayville is almost a ghost town, but it has three photogenic churches. This church is surrounded by mature trees, which makes for a lovely setting, but difficult to photograph.
Mount Joy School 2

This school, constructed from fieldstone, sits on a rise overlooking the plains of southern Saskatchewan. This image was taken on an evening in August, 2021.
a tale of two houses

I found this house beside a back road north of Indian Head, Saskatchewan. I surmise that the weathered wood frame house was built first, and as the family prospered the stucco-covered portion was tacked on later. Such home additions were fairly common on the Prairies, but this is a dramatic example.

Another perspective on the odd house I found while traveling a back road north of Indian Head, Saskatchewan. This image was taken in April, 2018.

There were so many objects around this abandoned house I decided to shoot is as a vertical. I think the object in front is a car chassis that has been converted to a wagon.
a star on top

Another perspective on an abandoned house, showing the wire star mounted on the roof. I expect the star once was strung with lights at Christmas time.

St Peter's at sunrise

St. Peter's Church at Muenster, a short distance from the community and the Benedictine Abbey.
shed and bridge, North Saskatchewan River
The North Saskatchewan River is one of the major rivers that flows through the province. The bridge looks considerably newer than the shed, which sits above the river floodplain.
bins and barn

A favourite barn located on the plains south of Regina, with storm clouds brewing in the distance.
