Die Rittersterne (Hippeastrum) sind eine Pflanzengattung innerhalb der Familie der Amaryllisgewächse (Amaryllidaceae). Die etwa 80 Arten gedeihen in Gebieten mit einer ausgeprägten Trockenzeit in Südamerika. Die in Europa als Zierpflanzen kultivierten Ritterstern-Sorten sind überwiegend Hybriden.
