Flöttergraben
Flöttergraben was built as a drainage ditch in the 19th century. With the creation of Müritz National Park the outflows were blocked to let the landscape revert to its original state of moor and bog. In May the water was covered with pollen from the alders growing around it.

Wienpietschsee
Wienpietsch lakes are two moor lakes in Müritz National Park which are completely surrounded by forest (mainly birch, alder, pine and some beech). They can only be reached on foot or by bike, a boardwalk leads round the southern lake. In summer grass snakes can often be seen lying in the sun (see inset photo).
Feisnecksee
Feisnecksee is a typical glacial tunnel valley lake. It lies on the southwestern outskirts of the town of Waren and is only separated from the much larger Müritz lake by a 150m wide land bridge. The southern reaches of Feisneck are part of Müritz National Park.
