Thangbi Lhakhang

Thangbi Lhakhang
Thangbi Lhakhang is a Nyingmapa monastery in upper Choekhor (Bumthang) valley. It was founded in 1470 by the 4th Shamar Rinpoche of the Karma Kagyu school but subsequently taken over by Pema Lingpa and run as a Nyingmapa temple. The iron curtain in front of the main temple (see inset photo) is attributed to Pema Lingpa himself. Typically for Nyingmapa monasteries, Thangbi is run by 20 gomchen (married lay monks) who live as farmers in houses grouped round the Lhakhang (see inset photo)

Sieht ja richtig prächtig aus und mit etwas Fantasie ist etwas alpenländischer Stil zu erkennen, was sicher nicht beabsichtigt war... :-))

Merci vielmals, Udo! Bhutan hat tatsächlich viele Gemeinsamkeiten mit der Schweiz, die Bauweise ist so ähnlich wie die Landschaften es sind:-) Fritz Maurer,der berühmteste Schweizer Bhutans, hat eine Käserei in Bumthang aufgebaut: www.bhutan-switzerland.org/pdf/schweizer-familie_24-02-11.pdf

DA hat der Udo recht, so ein richtiges Asiengefühl will sich da garnicht einstellen. Bei den PiPs ist das schon anders. Mir fällt die klare Luft immer wieder auf, auch irgendwi unasiatisch ;-)

Herzlichen Dank, Lutz! Es ist eben die Schweiz Asiens:-) Mindestens zu 70% mit Wald bedeckt, während die Nachbarländer fast alles abgeholzt haben...Die klare Luft kommt von der Höhe, das hier liegt auf fast 2700m und der Monsun war vorbei.
