Harpa - Foyer

Harpa concert hall and conference centre was designed by Henning Larsen Architects, Batteriid Architects and artist Olafur Eliasson. They were honoured with the Mies van der Rohe Award in 2013.

A very dramatic interior, Gudrun, and wonderful perspective here. I love the odd splash of colour too. It's great that one can see part of the outside through these amazing windows.

Thanks very much, Amelia! I spent a long time in there, there was something new around every corner!
The facade is glass all around, artist Olafur Eliasson modelled it on the basalt columns that are so typical for Iceland. The colour scheme inside also recalls Icelandic nature- basalt, lava, ice, northern lights...
