Impressive shot.... layers of civilization. It appears as if the taller housing towers are encroaching further into the traditional housing in the name of population density.

yet, what is particularly surprising in that country...is that even in open space, or little towns, we can see those huge towers, as if modernity could only deal with that sort of "comfort"

Ummm a problem that growning in our world. I love that word you used "modernity".......let's hope that they and we don't modernity ourselves out of existence in the name of modernity. China is a good example of that these days.... how they have destroyed rich lives and culture of villages of people enjoying traditional ways of living in the name of modernity for the cities.

you're right
the main problem is the way people think about being modern or not...having running water inside, and a small flat in a tower...what looks terrible is that those towers have but little windows...nearly no light at all as the towers are quite near to one another...just dreadful modernism...
the problem in Korea is their lack of individualism also...being well, feeling well doesn't mean anything to them individually speaking...
