I was disappointed to see the stamp mill chain-link fenced off, but seeing the detail preserved in the railings (and the danger to knuckleheads playing around on them) I can see the reasoning.

Cresting over the ridge I get stunning northeast views of Pleasant Valley.

The familiar JT rock jumbles around the campground are just tiny groups of pebbles from up here.

Coming around the south side of the ridge, an old prospector's little homestead.

Out of the fire zone on the west side of the ridge and suddenly lush.

This is a really big specimen. If you can identify my hat hanging on the stump (at head height), that shows the scale.
