This is kind of the "running out of new places to go" trip. At the HWY 58 and alt 58 split (north of Mojave, CA) I got on the tower / pipeline roads that hug the mountains north towards Indian Wells. Decent camp spots were slim to none until Pine Tree Canyon, which was okay but had lots of debris and shotgun shell casings everywhere (always a risk some rowdy folks will show up).
