Carlisle cathedral is a former Augustinian abbey, created a cathedral in 1133 it is one of the smallest in England.

50 feet high & dating from 1350, some of the stained glass at the top is original but the glass below dates from 1861.

At the right, looks like this rare view of the church was taken from the top of the cathedral. Demolished in 1954 I can find no information of why...
