I'm quite fond of these, even if I was rudely woken up by the side of a quiet country lane (too quiet, no cars for hitching a lift that day!) where I had drifted to sleep on a warm July afternoon on the outskirts of Montélimar. The rude awakening was the sound of metal graunching on metal. Quite horrible! And then I saw it, just a foot above my head and hanging from a twig was a fair sized praying mantis tucking into his lunch (cricket that day). No more sleep for me that afternoon! (the year was 1977 but every detail remains very clear in my mind and yet I would struggle to tell you what I had for lunch yesterday! - And I cooked it!!)
Ici au Portugal les vieux me répètent souvent "Està a culpa do PDI".( PDI=puta da idade!!).
Amitiés.
