Sharington's Tower

William Sharington bought Lacock Abbey from the Crown following the Dissolution of the Monasteries. The house was built over the old cloisters and its main rooms are on the first floor. In the spot you can see in the foreground stood the chapel used for worship by the nuns. Sharington had it demolished to provide building material for his planned alterations.
