Welcome to Weymouth
The florid Jubilee clock. It was not always florid. From its birth in 1888 until the 1920s it was rather drab. You see how old I am to recall these facts.

Thank you Bob. The clock is a useful landmark for parties of people who divide to do different activities and plan to become reunited at a particular time at the clock. Otherwise it must be practically redundant in an age of wristwatches and mobile phones. As an ornament it is quite wonderful, I will agree.
