St. Mary’s Church, Steeple Ashton

St. Mary’s Church, Steeple Ashton
The notice on the gate of St. Mary’s Church, Steeple Ashton, calls attention to the 100th anniversary of the death of Private William Arthur Rogers of the Wiltshire Regiment who died of his wounds on 27th March, 1915.
Thirty men of Great Hinton and Steeple Ashton died in the First World War and St. Mary’s bell ringers will mark their sacrifice by tolling the bells in solemn respect on the 100th anniversary of the death of each of them.

Canon EOS 30D and 18-55 kit lens.
