slam doors

What a great but short trip this was. A real blast from the past. And something that you can normally only do on heritage railways these days. It was all here, the handles to open the doors which you slammed shut afterward. The woodwork, a window you could open and lean out of, the view out the front, an engine with gears. And to top it all joints in the rails giving that clickety-clack sound as you travelled along. I may sound like an anorak, but how quickly we seemed to have become accustomed to traveling in sealed glass boxes with sliding doors. Give me one of these old things anyday! This train runs between Queen St and Cardiff Bay, try it and see what I'm on about.
