File this under trips that would never happen these days. We stayed in a former rectory near Annascaul, because… it seemed like a good idea? Somewhere with lots of space but nothing to do. That didn’t seem to matter though. There was a match against Tralee RFC who went in at half-time 55-0. It ended 60-0, which seemed a victory of sorts. We looked across at the Blaskets from Dun Chaoin, then stopped the bus at a beach that was a bit wild because some of the lads wanted to swim, so why not? It went fine. Maybe 2011 I went back to that beach and the first thing you see are the signs for currents and how never to swim there…
