I’m looking forward to your solstice card as a way of marking our weird times. I haven’t got a teddy bear, and my teeth are a bit wonky, but I’ve got a heavy brick called Frank who’s ready to lend his weight to the resistance.

A brick is good, too. Especially if it's reliable. Try training it to behave like a boomerang and then you'll be able to lob it at Tory prats over and over. But I'll see if I can organize sending you a teddy. Their powers of subversion are unsurpassed, trust me.

Oh dear! Our friendship might falter over lemon ice cream. I mean when there's white chocolate flavour, honeycomb and even the ever reliable vanilla. Will the solstice be any solace? It seems to me that its passing will serve simply to highlight that 2020 so far has been frittered away much like the planet beneath it is being frittered away even as we write.

Don't be silly, dearest. Ain't gonn' quarrel with you over gelato flavours, what! Me, I grew up on dark chocolate and lemon ice cream and you know what childhood attachments can be. Eternally enduring. But I must admit honeycomb sounds totally spiffing.
It ought to be Hope but it seems it is frittering wot springs eternal, these days, so low we have fallen and so far lapsed. Ay, que dolor...
But we keep on grooving. To spite Them. :-)
