Welcome to country: the Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains

(First I welcome you all to my Kaurna country, and next I welcome you to the State Library of South Australia. My brothers, my sisters, let's walk together in harmony.)

Kaurna elder Lewis O'Brien
The Kaurna greeting message (link to message at top of page) at the entrance to the library was prepared by Kaurna elder Lewis O'Brian of Adelaide. It has been carved in a spiral design in a large slab of bluestone from Kanmantoo in South Australia.
