{OK} wwb - Whitehaven West Beach

The stormy weather over the winter 2015/16 eroded parts of the spoil / demolition deposits to reveal various artefacts from Whitehaven's industrial past.
These included coal mining, stone quarrying and transport ie rope / railway systems.
Much of Whitehaven (town and harbour) is built from sandstone, much of which was quarried from the Tom Hurd Rocks. The remains of these can be seen at low tide, and are marked as being a potential hazard to navigation.
