In 2004 the NRM opened an outstation in Shildon, Co. Durham. It was intended to be a storage facility, but is now part of a museum, which is a popular destination itself! In fact, it has become so popular that a second "new" hall was built, it opened in May 2024 - but it took until 10th October 2024 before I was able to make my first visit.

We have carried out a series of three small projects for them, and have at least one larger project under discussion - the latter will require significant funding......

1) New headstocks for GER 63 - the Director's Saloon.
2) New headstocks for NER BoBo No1
3) Replacement footplate for the Sans Pareil replica.

I am currently looking for the best of the York images. Once I have decided, they'll be uploaded - or scanned and uploaded, as required.
