From November 2012 Stanegate Restorations has had an additional, part time trainee. Originally Lee was based at the Vintage Vehicle Museum in Shildon, but whilst Michael Bowman is receiving medical treatment for his serious illness, Lee is with us for part of his time each week.

With his more mechanical background Lee has begun by continuing the strip down and servicing of the Volvo Penta engine and gearbox from the Classic Ski Boat.

A little light relief was provided by carrying out some work on our M7 lathe, to produce relacement parts for a spotlight stand that has been refurbished.

Work has also been carried out on the side modules on NSR 127, ranging from sanding to timber repairs - including some work on one of the "gable ends" of the carriage. Also, Lee has been brushing up on his finishing skills - timber preparation for applying some primer and other paints.
