{OK} CSB - Classic Ski Boat

We have been tasked with restoring this 15ft plywood ski boat.
It had been partially dismantled by a previous owner, but the project was not completed.
We think that we have all the parts, but not all the history. If you know anything that might help, please contact via ipermail.

Research so far has indicated that the model name is "Sportman" but we have been given several alternatives for the builder. However, most of the suggestions have been linked with Windermere, in the Lake District.
On the balance of the evidence so far, we have concluded that the builder was "Anchorage" of Ferry Nab at Windermere.

The intention was to slightly over-restore this little boat, but if it turns out to be a rare survivor, then an "as built" appearance will be the result of our work.
Progress has been rather limited as the workshop has had a number of higher priority projects to complete.
The engine and gearbox will provide some interesting challenges......some help has meant that the engine and gear box are currently stripped down for assessment / servicing, as shown in the latest images. After considerable searching, a suitable gasket set has been sourced, so the engine rebuild will be re-started shortly (Feb 2013). There are a number of extra images of the rebuild in progress to upload.
We have popped the deck back on, to check what is in store before ordering replacement material, such as deck fittings. It is suspected that the fabric is original, but needs a very good clean.
Have been sent - in mid 2016 - some pictures of one in better condition (taken in March 2013), which gives us some hope and inspiration ...
