{OK} HoS - Head of Steam aka Hopetown, Darlington

The North Road / Head of Steam Museum has been rebuilt & expanded into three buildings as "Hopetown". The updated museum was re-opened in July 2024, and is somewhat more child orientated than previously, with the usual modern practice in the thinning out of the exhibits on display. However, the interpretation animations are rather good. The P2 project have their workshop just across the mainline, linked by a new bridge which allows access to a viewing gallery.
Free entry and a good cafe & shop are plus points. The value for money of £6 to buy a souvenir "guidebook" is debatable.
