{WIP} gct - [pheasants]

As expected, the camera trap "caught" many images of our semi-resident pheasant and his harem. {decided to separate them out as another album}.
Additional images are from the baw {birds at my window} album. When I've got all the images together here, they'll be arranged in "date taken " order, until then things will be a little more random.
Pheasants have a loud "caw" and wing clap as a territorial behaviour and a soft "huh - huh - huh" when walking about during feeding. They are ground nesters, which carries a high predation risk. They are also very vulnerable to road traffic and perverts with guns. Many thousands {often foreign-raised birds} are released every year as targets for the guns.

The first semi-tame male didn't receive a proper nick-name: I got this one eating with a couple of feet, as I sat on the ground - this was during the first covid-19 lockdown..
A subsequent male received the moniker "Hercule" as he had a particularly wide white neck-ring.
The male we saw most often in 2023 became "Tufty" as he had very prominent ear tufts.
