{OK} spk - Sparrowhawk

We had a surprise visitor - a Sparrowhawk - on 18th March 2023. From the size & colouring, I suspect that this is a male. He perched on the birdtable roof, but stayed only a few minutes before flying off at some speed. Seen again in a short visit on 5th July 2023, no images as he was very quick !

I'm taking the appearance of such an apex predator as a sign that there is a good small bird population locally ...
Other birds of prey in the locality, at other times, have included Owls, Kestrels and Buzzards. Also seen, on passage, Ospreys - I have an interest in BoPs, for themselves and as a visible sign of the ecosystem's health.
