{OK} etn - ETNA, Sicily

The active stratavolcano on Sicily has periods of greater and less eruptivity, both from the main and subsidiary craters. Usually emits ash, lava fountains & bombs, sometimes producing aa lava [blocky] flows. It can be destructive if the flows reach the villages on the lower slopes. It is a complex area, and one I really would like to visit, maybe when I'm fully retired, or win the lottery !
