The number of people killed by US law enforcement has been steadily rising overall for the past 25 years - with only a few downward moves.

From an average of slightly more than one a day in 2010, it is now approaching an average of four per day.

That's actually an appalling statistic.

On the basis of the statistics on Wikipedia, the UK has had a grand total of 204 deaths attributable to Police actions since 1687 ... some in the past couple of decades were judged to be lawful killing [terrorists], a significant number of others were deaths in police custody.
The UK doesn't have the American "suicide by cop" problem
Of those 204 deaths, about 25% [from the 1920s onwards] were in Ireland.
