A-510 [18-010] McLachlan inshore rescue boat, built 1973, note the nine chines, intended to reduce "bumping" at speed.

Another member of this class, A-504 [18-004] was at Weston-super-mare [1970-83] and was used in an exceptional rescue of five persons from a grounded motorboat on 13Sept1975 for which the helmsman was awarded the RNLI Bronze medal and the two crew rec'd Thanks on Vellum, She's now on display at Chatham.
