Being of an engineering background, I found the structural components of the grand hall very interesting. To my eyes, this is a portal framed building and the gold en pillars are not structural ... the roof panelling provided an interesting effect with light and shadows.
The muslin curtains are partitioning off the area "Uitterdijk" which was another area that was often used for sitting and chatting.
