O&S - block hooks

I'm not sure what these are - crane hooks or perhaps for handling molten iron flasks ?? The supporting waggon is standard gauge.

Edited to Add - Informed that these are block-handling grabs/hooks and were used in the building of the piers at the mouth of the River Tyne.
