Wow Steve is this the new 500? Terrific capture and good focussing, looks like you had to squeeze through the growth to take the shot. I have never had the luck to see one of these.

Hi Maurice, yes this is the new 500mm f5.6 lens. The bearded tits were in reed beds and not very visible so I did have to focus through the reeds. I have seen these before but it's always nice to find them. There are roughly half a dozen in the reserve in a large reed bed.

I was going to ask if you had a different lens, because lately your pictures have been absolutely stunning, Steve. It's well worth it isn't it, so you get wonderful pictures like you do.

Hi Jenny, it is worth it to me but the lens is very expensive. However, it is my hobby and since my wife died it is my main interest.
