Mallard

Mallard
Electric predator fences were put up at my reserve to stop foxes from taking ground nesting birds. The mallards have had to learn to fly over the fences to get to the bird feeders where they pick up seeds dropped on the ground. The flight over the fence gives me a chance to practice photographing birds in flight.

Jeff Farley, , Jenny McIntyre have particularly liked this photo

Aha so that's why you have managed to capture so many ducks flying. Aren't there any bird feeders on their side of the electric fences?

No Jenny the bird feeders are all behind the fence so the mallards just had to learn to fly over it to get to the bird seed dropped below by the small birds.
