Jalapeno

The core ingredient — the jalapeño pepper — originated in what is now Central America and Mexico. The name jalapeño was given to the pepper by the Spanish.
The ancient Aztecs were the first people to use the jalapeno, but it did not become a global sensation until Columbus spread hot peppers around the world in 1492. Mexico is still the most prolific country for producing Jalapeno peppers, with an estimated 70,000 acres dedicated to growing them.

The Kudremukha township developed primarily as an iron ore mining town where the government ran Kudremukha Iron Ore Company Ltd. (KIOCL). This public sector company operated for almost 30 years but was closed in 2006 due to environmental issues.

Kudremukha receives an average annual rainfall of 7000 mm, (275.5 inches) largely due to the forest types of mainly evergreen vegetation that can be found here.
