Our commonsense idea about past experiences is that each has a feeling to it that is specified for the particular event in question. The actual feeling itself is tied to the actual experience, and we expect we can recapture the feeling by replicating the experience. Repeat the event and we expect the original feeling will come along automatically. I am suggesting that it doesn’t. This is not how to think about it. - page 218
