Il ponte della Gaietta, denominato anche ponte vecchio e icona di Millesimo, è citato nel documento di fondazione del borgo datato al 9 novembre 1206, anche se la struttura potrebbe risalire al XII secolo. La torretta di guardia con merli ghibellini, fu la porta d’accesso a Millesimo dal lato ovest del borgo. Una delle due arcate dell’antico ponte crollò nel 1744, assieme ad una torretta, in seguito ad un’alluvione della Bormida di Millesimo; successivamente nel 1878 fu rimpiazzata da un ponte, sostituito successivamente con una passerella sospesa, ancora oggi presente (vedere in una foto precedente, mentre nei commenti c'è la torre vista dall'altro lato) D'origine romana e posto sul tracciato della via Aemilia Scauri, Millesimo merita una tappa ! in realtà questa è una ricostruzione, nella Maison de Santé di Saint-Paul-de-Mausole, un vecchio convento adibito a ospedale psichiatrico a Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, dove Van Gogh l'8 maggio 1889 entrò volontariamente per rimanervi circa un anno, dipingendo nel frattempo ben 140 opere, tra queste vi sono molte delle più famose. The nine-spotted ladybug can be identified by the presence of four black spots on each of its elytra, a single spot split between the elytra, and a black suture between the elytra. Its pronotum is black, with two connected white marks at the front. A curiosity: The nine-spotted ladybug has been the state insect of New York since 1989, though its numbers have declined as the numbers of introduced species such as the seven-spotted ladybug and Asian lady beetle have increased. It was for some time thought extinct in New York, so in 2006, the state considered designating the pink spotted ladybug as state insect instead, but the bill did not pass the Senate. In 2006 the nine-spotted ladybug was rediscovered in Virginia (the first East Coast sighting in 14 years). In 2011, about 20 of these ladybugs were found on a farm in Amagansett, NY, the first such sighting in New York since 1982.
