Sono quelle dei Southern Cross, una band tributo ai mitici CSN&Y. Del concerto che tennero qualche tempo fa al Raindogs House, vi faccio sentire un pezzo che in realtà fu scritto e interpretato da Neil Young, fa parte del suo album Harvest del 1972 e il singolo raggiunse posizione 31 nella Billboard Hot 100 singles chart: OLD MAN Per me una canzone veramente poetica... In questa stagione, quando si trovano delle rose, si trovano anche i loro frutti. O meglio i cinorrodi (dal greco kion=cane e rodon=rosa, con il significato di frutti che guariscono i cani dalla rabbia) che sono il falso frutto o, più semplicemente, le bacche che la rosa produce dopo la fioritura. Gli anglosassoni chiamano i cinorrodi delle rose rose-hip, i francesi traducono letteralmente in cynorrhodon, i tedeschi parlano di Hagebutte e i catalani gavarró ! Prendo spunto da questa bignonia che qui in Italia chiamiamo "Contessa Sara" per parlare della mia famiglia. Si, della famiglia mia sorella ed io siamo le ultime esponenti, finisce così una lunga storia. Era iniziata nella seconda metà del 1500 quando Cesare I Gonzaga concesse il titolo a Cesare Caracci con un contado nel guastallese. Vi allego due pagine del libro di Famiglia che riporta l'albero genealogico. In esse si nota come mio bisnonno divenne conte per caso poiché sopravvisse al suo fratello maggiore che non ebbe figli, infine mio padre, Raul o Raoul, fu l'ultimo a portare il titolo. Di questo e di altri simili, mio padre soleva dire che solo i titoli guadagnati con il proprio impegno sono quelli che contano... e io la penso come lui. Vi aggiungo anche lo stemma di famiglia che personalmente trovo originale: un'arma con un albero verde in campo argento. Al suo fusto è attorcigliato un serpe e alla base ci sono due ricci. Il motto originale è "Ospes Fugi Ospitem". Un tardo latino che nella riproduzione riportata è stato corretto in "Hospes Fugit Hospitem". Secondo quanto mi hanno detto in famiglia, il significato voleva essere: "gli amici fanno fuggire i nemici". Le prime notizie con riscontri ufficiali risalgono al XVI secolo, quando Cesare Caracci, figlio di Giulio, ricevette da Cesare I Gonzaga il privilegio di acquistare nel Guastallese. Il primo documento relativo a un Caracci, è quello che testimonia come Cesare Caracci fu designato Presidente del nuovo Monte di Pietà di Guastalla, il 24 Ottobre 1574. Il primo conte fu Persio Carlo, al quale fu concesso il titolo da Ferdinando Carlo, duca di Mantova, con diploma del 29 Marzo 1678. Il titolo viene concesso a tutta la sua discendenza in ordine di primogenitura. In tale occasione si conferma lo stemma di famiglia, uguale a quello che si trovava sull’altare della chiesa dei R.R.P.P. Servi di Maria da 200 anni e più.
