Big silver birds eye view of Dubai, soon after take-off
Coastal mountains
We're heading west on a flight from Dubai to Manchester, and flying along the southern coast of Iran. The island of Kish is prominent top left, and further along is the island of Hendorabi.
Sharjah
The port of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Seen about 15 minutes or so from Dubai, heading west.
Mountain range
Along the southern coast of Iran, heading west on a flight from Dubai to Manchester. The island of Kish is just visible above the engine, with Hendorabi top centre and top right is Lavan. Looks like a series of impact craters on the mountains below.
View of the gods
Seen from maybe 30 miles distance and at a height of around 36,000 ft, this is rather impressive. Must be spectacular to see at close range.
Mount Ararat in Eastern Turkey, on the border with Armenia.
The snow covered peak is Greater Ararat, at just over 16,500 ft and the fabled resting place of Noah's Ark. The peak on the right is Lesser Ararat, at 12,800 ft.

On approach
Coming in on approach to Manchester, on the final leg of a flight from Dubai.
After the sights of southern Iran and Mt Ararat, we have here the somewhat less exotic aerial view of Huddersfield.
The towns railway station is about centre, with the line to Leeds on the left, and the Standedge Route to Manchester on the right.
Stockport from the air
The last few miles on approach to Manchester, and a birds eye view of Stockport. This is Offerton, with the Gardeners Arms in centre of picture, at the junction of the four roads. The main A626 Stockport to Marple road runs from bottom right to top left
