Rail UK - Class 74
Folder: Rail UK - Electric
Electro diesel
Class 74 no E6101 pauses at Southampton with a service from Waterloo to Bournemouth and Weymouth. This example was converted from Class 71 straight electric No E5015. Not a totally successful class of loco, although I've had a few good runs behind them.

Southern Boat Train
Built in 1958 as straight electric E5006 - third rail and overhead - and rebuilt in 1968 as an electro diesel. Here is E6103 at Southampton with a Waterloo - Weymouth Quay Boat Train, which it will haul as far as Bournemouth, from where a BRCW Type 3 - Class 33 - will take over. E6103 was later renumbered to 74003, and withdrawn December 1977.
