River Irt

Built in 1894, 0-8-2 loco 'River Irt' is the oldest working 15in gauge loco in the world. Here we see her awaiting departure from Ravenglass with a train for Dalegarth.
The only fixed signals on the line are within the immediate environs of Ravenglass Station. The rest of the line is controlled by radio control train order, from the signalbox seen here behind the loco.
The coach behind the box is one of two former Pullman coaches in use as holiday accomodation.
