Partington gasholder


One of two gasholders remaining at at Partington where there was once a large gasworks completed for Manchester Corporation in 1929. In 1972 work commenced to convert much of the old gasworks site for Liquefied Natural Gas storage but the two holders remained with British gas as part of the local distribution network.
