Oil pumped by the nodding donkey in the background is stored in tanks on this site for collection by road tanker. This makes it a bonded site with a range of draconian penalties for anyone caught removing the oil without permission from HMRC.

Not many people in the UK realise it either. There are several oilfields being exploited in England.

Thanks for these pictures. After you posted this, I looked up the history of onshore oil exploration in the UK. Per the link (below) there's a long history of onshore oil exploration in the UK and there are 120 producing sites onshore now; apparently the Wych field is the most productive. It's a shame that people don't realize how widely-distributed oil production is, it might give them a different view on it.
