Intermittent


The land to the west and north of Buxton is dotted with old intermittent earthen limekilns that were operated on a commercial scale in the eighteenth century and possibly into the early years of the nineteenth century. This one sits south of Thirkellow Rocks, a short distance from the High Edge Raceway.
