Ruskin Buildings

Ruskin Buildings, 179 - 203 Corporation St, Birmingham. Completed in 1899 to the design of Ewan Harper, it comprises five storeys plus attic. There are 13 bays mainly with buff terracotta ornamentation, and red terracotta columns to the ground floor shop units and central entrance, and a couple of griffins flanking the central bay. The Grade II listed building was restored in 2000, the replacement terracotta being provided by Ibstock Hathernware.
It is actually a rectangular building, the use of a wide-angle stitch has created the curved appearance.
