Lord Street Arcade


This astonishing building, 81-89 Lord Street, Liverpool, was constructed in 1901to the design of W. Aubrey Thomas who is perhaps better known for the Liver Building. I find the striped effect amazing. Of course the whole effect is ruined by the modern shop frontage below. The corporate world has little time for matching architecture as the "house style" is all.
